First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested the drug pegloticase in 10 cancer patients with high uric acid levels caused by tumor lysis syndrome, a complication where cancer cells break down quickly. The goal was to see if the drug could safely lower uric acid and protect kidney function. Results are not yet available, but the approach may offer a new way to manage this serious side effect.
