First seen Jul 02, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026
Summary
This trial tests whether an immersive virtual reality exercise program, done three times a week during school breaks, can improve body composition and fitness in children aged 12 to 16 with overweight or obesity. Participants wear a head-mounted display and play active video games tailored to their ability. The study measures changes in fat mass, muscle mass, fitness, and how enjoyable and safe the experience feels.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a fun, engaging way to help children with overweight or obesity improve their body composition and fitness during school hours.
