Summary

This study is testing a new support program called THRIVE for people leaving the hospital who have opioid use disorder. It aims to see if connecting patients with a trained peer specialist for in-person and text message support can help reduce dangerous overdoses and skin infections. Researchers will compare this program to standard care by following 390 patients for six months.
