First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 27, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested whether a 10-week volunteer-led peer support group, called PEER, could help adults with mental health difficulties feel more in control and connected. About 300 people took part, with half joining the group plus their usual care, and half receiving usual care alone. The goal was to see if the group improved personal recovery, hope, and social networks.
