Youth-led HIV prevention: a game-changer for brazil?

NCT ID NCT06661356

First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether training young people to deliver HIV prevention pills (PrEP) to their peers can increase use and adherence compared to standard clinic care. About 1,400 sexually active youth aged 15-24 in Brazil who are not currently taking PrEP will be randomly assigned to either peer-led or standard care. The goal is to see if peer support helps more young people start and stay on PrEP, reducing new HIV infections.
