Can a friend help you talk to your doctor? study tests peer coaches for heart health

NCT ID NCT05933655

Summary

This study is testing whether training 'peer coaches' can help patients with limited health literacy have better conversations with their doctors about reducing their risk of heart disease. The study involves 60 patients at a single clinic who are at risk for heart problems. Half will work with a peer coach to prepare for their doctor's visit, while the other half will not, to see if the coaching makes a difference.
