Scientists test custom vaccine to turn Kids' own cells against deadly brain cancer

NCT ID NCT03334305

Summary

This early-stage study tested whether a personalized vaccine made from a child's own tumor and immune cells could be safely given to fight aggressive brain cancer. The treatment aimed to train the child's immune system to recognize and attack the cancer cells. The trial was small and terminated early, focusing primarily on safety in children newly diagnosed with high-grade gliomas.
