Tiny muscle may be hidden cause of stroke shoulder pain

NCT ID NCT06613646

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether a small chest muscle, the pectoralis minor, plays a role in shoulder pain common after a stroke. Nineteen stroke survivors with shoulder pain received injections into the muscle and nearby joint area. Researchers measured pain levels and shoulder movement before and after treatment to see if targeting this muscle could help ease symptoms.
