Scientists probe hidden link between kidney damage and cholesterol
NCT ID NCT06373913
Summary
This study aims to understand how a protein called PCSK9 might contribute to kidney damage and high cholesterol in people with nephrotic syndrome, a serious kidney condition. Researchers will compare PCSK9 levels in the blood and kidney tissue of 75 patients with the syndrome to healthy individuals. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better future treatments for this complex disease.
