Scientists investigate Protein's role in kidney disease

NCT ID NCT06373913

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a protein called PCSK9 is higher in people with nephrotic syndrome, a kidney condition that causes protein leakage and swelling. Researchers will compare blood and kidney tissue samples from 75 participants—some with the condition and some healthy—to see if PCSK9 levels relate to kidney damage. The goal is to better understand the disease, not to test a new treatment.
