New CT scanner could rival MRI for rectal cancer staging

Summary
This study compares a new type of CT scanner (PCD-CT) to standard MRI for determining how far rectal cancer has grown. About 200 adults with rectal cancer will receive both scans, and doctors will check if the CT is as accurate as MRI. If successful, this could offer a faster and more widely available staging option.
