Patients rate their symptoms after starting secukinumab for hidradenitis suppurativa
NCT ID NCT06444087
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study follows 192 adults with hidradenitis suppurativa (a painful skin condition) who are starting secukinumab as part of their normal care. Researchers will ask patients to rate their pain, oozing, and bad smell after 12 months. The goal is to understand how the drug affects symptoms from the patient's point of view, not to test a new treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- secukinumab
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could show how well secukinumab works from the patient's perspective, helping doctors better understand its real-world benefits for hidradenitis suppurativa.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be influenced by factors other than the drug. It only follows patients for 12 months and does not test a new treatment.
