Push-Button sedation: patients take the wheel during colonoscopy

NCT ID NCT07637279

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether letting patients give themselves sedation medication (propofol) by pressing a button during a colonoscopy leads to higher satisfaction than standard sedation given by a doctor. About 40 adults scheduled for colonoscopy will be randomly assigned to either patient-controlled or standard sedation. The main goal is to see if self-administration improves the patient's experience.
