First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether a new type of brain scan (PET) works as well as the current standard (SPECT) to help doctors tell the difference between Parkinson's disease and essential tremor. 152 adults aged 35 to 80 with either condition took part. The goal was to see if the newer method could accurately identify which disease a person has, potentially offering a better or more convenient option for diagnosis.
