Scientists hunt for early warning signs of Parkinson's

NCT ID NCT00775853

Summary

This study aimed to find biological markers that could identify people at risk for Parkinson's disease long before movement symptoms appear. Researchers followed 89 healthy volunteers and people with specific risk factors (like family history or loss of smell) for up to 7.5 years. They used brain scans, spinal fluid tests, and other measurements to see if certain biomarkers could predict who would later be diagnosed with Parkinson's.
