First seen Dec 19, 2025 · Last updated Apr 10, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study aimed to understand how to help people with Parkinson's disease better remember and retain practiced motor skills, like those used on a tablet or smartphone. Researchers compared two training methods—practicing a single task versus practicing while doing a second task—to see which leads to longer-lasting skill improvement. They used brain scans and behavioral tests in 40 Parkinson's patients and 40 healthy older adults to see how the brain changes with different types of practice.
