Swallowable camera seeks Parkinson's clues in the gut

NCT ID NCT04566341

Summary

This study aims to see if a new, swallowable camera can safely take detailed pictures of the esophagus (food pipe) in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers want to learn if there are specific changes in the gut's nervous system linked to Parkinson's. The images from 20 participants with Parkinson's will be compared to images from healthy people to look for differences.
