New hope for Parkinson's patients struggling with debilitating constipation

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called pyridostigmine can safely and effectively treat chronic constipation in people with Parkinson's disease. Sixteen participants with Parkinson's and significant constipation will take the medication for several weeks while tracking their bowel movements and symptoms. Researchers aim to find a new treatment option for this common and distressing problem that greatly affects quality of life.
