Scientists scan brains to unlock Parkinson's clues

NCT ID NCT05916625

Summary

This study aimed to better understand Parkinson's disease by comparing the brains of people with the condition to healthy volunteers. Researchers used PET scans to measure levels of a specific brain receptor (5-HT4) in 40 participants. The goal was to see if changes in this receptor are linked to the motor, cognitive, and mood symptoms of Parkinson's.
