First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested a new approach for people with advanced Parkinson's disease who have severe movement problems despite standard treatments. A pump placed in the brain delivered a special form of dopamine continuously, compared to taking many oral doses each day. The goal was to see if this method could provide better symptom control with fewer side effects and less frequent refills.
