Sound waves open brain door for Parkinson's treatment

NCT ID NCT05565443

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a focused ultrasound technique can safely open the blood-brain barrier to deliver an enzyme called GCase directly to the brain in people with Parkinson's disease. The goal is to see if this method can improve Parkinson's symptoms by targeting the brain area most affected. The study will enroll 14 participants with either a specific genetic form or the more common type of Parkinson's.
