Scientists scan brains for clues to Parkinson's progression

NCT ID NCT04735172

Summary

This study aims to better understand the brain chemistry of Parkinson's disease in its earliest stages. Researchers will use a powerful, specialized MRI scanner to measure levels of specific chemicals in the brains of people who have been recently diagnosed and are not yet on medication, comparing them to healthy volunteers. The goal is to identify chemical changes that might explain how Parkinson's starts and progresses, which could inform future treatments.
