Brain scans map hidden progression of Parkinson's
NCT ID NCT02038608
Summary
This study aimed to better understand how Parkinson's disease affects the brain over time. Researchers used special brain scans (PET scans) to measure changes in two key chemical systems—dopamine and serotonin—in 49 people at different stages of Parkinson's. The goal was to see how these changes relate to non-motor symptoms like depression, anxiety, and fatigue.
