Could a Parkinson's pill rekindle lost interests?

NCT ID NCT05182151

Summary

This study aimed to see if an already-approved Parkinson's disease medication called istradefylline could help improve motivation and reduce apathy—a common symptom where people lose interest in activities. It planned to test this over 12 weeks in a small group of people with Parkinson's who were already taking levodopa and had significant 'off' time. The study was terminated early, so its full results are not available.
