Hunting for early clues to Parkinson's before symptoms start
NCT ID NCT00775853
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study looked for early biological signs (biomarkers) of Parkinson disease in 89 people who had certain risk factors, like a family history or loss of smell. Participants underwent a series of tests, including brain scans, blood draws, and spinal taps, and were followed for several years. The goal was to see if those with abnormal biomarkers would later be diagnosed with Parkinson disease, helping to identify the disease process before symptoms appear.
