Summary

This study tests an online training program called WE PLAY for Parents, designed to help parents of young children with autism (ages 3-5) encourage more physical activity. About 114 parents will be randomly assigned to take the training right away or wait 3 months. Researchers will measure changes in parents' knowledge, confidence, and behavior around promoting activity. The goal is to see if the program is helpful and easy to use.

What this could lead to

If successful, this program could give parents practical tools to help their young autistic children be more active, potentially improving health and well-being.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study focused on parent knowledge, not child health outcomes. The training is brief (90 minutes), and results may not lead to lasting changes in activity levels.
