Hands-On feeding helps parents bond with preemies in hospital

NCT ID NCT05272956

Summary

This study looked at whether a simple change in how premature babies are fed could help parents spend more time with them in the hospital. Researchers compared two methods: letting parents gently push milk through a feeding tube with a syringe versus using an automatic pump. They wanted to see if the hands-on approach made parents feel more involved and willing to stay at their baby's bedside.
