Can a Mom's encouragement rewire her Child's brain for happiness?

NCT ID NCT06725160

Summary

This study aims to understand if teaching mothers with depression how to encourage their child's positive emotions can improve the child's brain response to rewards. Researchers will work with 180 mothers and their 4- to 6-year-old children, randomly assigning them to either a special positive emotion coaching program or a general parenting support group. They will measure the child's brain activity before and after the sessions to see if the coaching makes a difference.
