First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study compares a nerve block (paravertebral block) to standard pain medication in 60 women having a mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction. The goal is to see if the nerve block reduces pain right after surgery and may help prevent long-term chronic pain. Participants will be followed for 72 hours after surgery to measure pain levels and medication use.
