New hope for aggressive pancreatic cancer: targeted therapy trial launches

Summary
This study tests if adding a low-dose targeted drug (erlotinib) to standard chemotherapy works better for people with a specific, aggressive type of advanced pancreatic cancer called basal-like. About 104 participants will first have their tumor type identified, then receive either the new combo or standard treatment. The goal is to improve survival and control the disease.
