Three-Pronged attack aims to stop dangerous leaks after major cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07262957
Summary
This international study is testing whether a combination of three existing treatments can reduce serious complications after a complex surgery to remove pancreatic tumors. The surgery, called a pancreatoduodenectomy, has a high risk of a dangerous fluid leak. The trial will enroll 400 high-risk patients and randomly give them either the three-part treatment bundle plus standard care or standard care alone. The goal is to see if this combined approach is more effective at preventing major complications than current standard practices.
