Could a stomach drug help fight pancreatic cancer?

NCT ID NCT05827055

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This trial investigates whether adding proglumide, a drug that blocks cholecystokinin receptors, to standard chemotherapy can improve treatment for metastatic pancreatic cancer. About 30 adults with advanced pancreatic cancer will receive either proglumide or a placebo alongside gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel. The study aims to see if proglumide can safely reduce fibrosis in the tumor environment and potentially improve survival.
