NCT ID NCT06752811
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This Phase 3 trial is testing whether a new formulation of the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel, given with gemcitabine, works better than the current standard treatment for metastatic pancreatic cancer. The study will enroll 416 adults who have not yet received treatment for their advanced cancer. Researchers will measure how long the cancer stays under control and overall survival.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
paclitaxel polymeric micelles plus gemcitabine
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more effective first-line treatment option for metastatic pancreatic cancer, potentially improving survival and tumor control.
What could go wrong
This is a Phase 3 trial, but the new drug formulation may not prove superior to the existing standard. Side effects from chemotherapy remain significant.
