Aggressive new approach tested for tough pancreatic tumors

NCT ID NCT02481635

Summary

This study is testing an intensive treatment plan for people with pancreatic cancer that has grown into a major artery. The plan involves chemotherapy and radiation before surgery to remove the tumor and reconstruct the artery, followed by more chemotherapy after surgery. The main goals are to see if this multi-step approach is safe and to measure how many patients survive one year after treatment.
