New radiation technique tested to better prepare pancreatic tumors for surgery
NCT ID NCT03704662
Summary
This study is testing which of two radiation therapy methods works better to shrink pancreatic tumors before surgery. About 102 patients with pancreatic cancer that might be removable by surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either a newer, shorter radiation treatment or a standard, longer course with chemotherapy. The main goal is to see which approach is more effective at reducing cancer in nearby lymph nodes, potentially improving surgical outcomes.
