Precision radiation tested for tough pancreatic tumors

NCT ID NCT02780648

Summary

This study tested the safety of a specialized, high-precision radiation treatment called stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for pancreatic cancer. It involved 36 patients whose cancer was difficult to remove with surgery or had come back after other treatments. The main goal was to measure serious side effects from this 5-day radiation course, while also checking if it helped control the cancer and improve pain and quality of life.
