Pancreas removal with cell rescue: a new option for benign tumors?

Summary
This early-phase trial tests whether removing the entire pancreas and transplanting the patient's own insulin-making cells into the liver is safe and effective for people with non-cancerous pancreatic tumors and long-term pancreatitis. The goal is to treat pain and prevent diabetes after surgery. About 12 adults will take part.
