First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at whether stimulating the palmar grasp reflex (the natural reflex where a baby grips your finger) can reduce pain and improve comfort in preterm babies during routine care of a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC). The study involved 32 preterm infants. Researchers measured pain and comfort levels using standard scales to see if this simple touch-based technique helps.
