New program aims to give advanced cancer patients more control over their care

Summary
This study is testing whether a 5-session palliative care program can help people with metastatic breast cancer and their caregivers communicate better with doctors, manage symptoms, and improve quality of life. 400 patients and their caregivers will be randomly assigned to receive either this special program or standard care with some extra reminders for doctors. The goal is to help patients have more conversations about what matters most to them in their care.
