New pain combo could cut opioid use after brain surgery

Summary

This study tests a combination of pain medicines and local numbing to improve pain control after brain tumor surgery. The goal is to reduce the need for strong opioids, which can cause side effects and complications. About 2,000 adults having planned brain surgery will take part. Researchers will measure how much opioid pain medicine patients use in the first two days after surgery.
