Summary

This study tested if a continuous infusion of the numbing medicine ropivacaine into the surgical wound after mastectomy could reduce pain and speed up recovery compared to a placebo. The goal was to help patients get back to daily activities sooner and lower the risk of chronic pain. The study was terminated early and included 59 women with breast cancer.
