Simple injection before surgery could ease Post-Op pain for thousands

NCT ID NCT07591233

First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether injecting a numbing medicine (ropivacaine) plus an anti-inflammatory steroid (triamcinolone) into surgical cuts before laparoscopic surgery reduces pain better than the numbing medicine alone. About 150 adults having gallbladder, appendix, or hernia surgery will take part. The goal is to find a safer, longer-lasting way to manage pain after surgery.
