First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study compares two ultrasound-guided nerve blocks to manage pain after heart surgery through the breastbone. The goal is to see which block reduces the need for opioid painkillers in the first 24 hours after surgery. Eighty adults having planned heart surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two blocks. The results could help improve pain control and speed up recovery.
