First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests if a special nerve block (external oblique intercostal block) can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers after gallbladder removal surgery. About 56 adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder surgery will either get the nerve block or not. The main goal is to see if the block lowers opioid use in the first 24 hours after surgery.
