Nerve block beats standard pain relief after gallbladder removal

NCT ID NCT07176299

Summary

This study tested different ways to manage pain after laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery. Researchers compared a nerve block technique against standard local anesthetic injections in 160 patients. They found the nerve block provided better pain relief with fewer complications and less need for additional pain medication during the first 24 hours after surgery.
