New injection could ease agony after keyhole chest surgery

NCT ID NCT07393386

Summary

This study is testing if a local anesthetic (bupivacaine) injected into the chest cavity can better control pain after minimally invasive chest surgery. Researchers will compare two different strengths of the drug against a placebo (saltwater) in 249 patients. The main goal is to see which option best reduces pain when patients cough in the first two days after their operation.
