New pain block beats morphine for chest surgery recovery

Summary
This study tested a new type of nerve block (SPSIPB) to control pain after chest surgery. Sixty adults having video-assisted chest surgery were split into two groups: one got the nerve block, the other got morphine injections. The goal was to see if the block could reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers. Results showed the nerve block worked well for pain control.
