New approach tested to ease pain after C-Section

NCT ID NCT07072650

Summary

This study tested whether adding a medication called dexmedetomidine to a standard pain-blocking injection could improve pain relief after a planned cesarean section. It involved 80 women who had C-sections with spinal anesthesia. Researchers compared pain levels, how soon women needed extra pain medicine, and the total amount of pain medication used in the first day after surgery.
