Targeted shot aims to ease agony after brain surgery

NCT ID NCT05624359

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a specific anti-inflammatory drug (flurbiprofen axetil) to a standard local anesthetic, injected into the scalp during brain surgery, can better prevent or reduce pain afterward. The goal is to see if this combination helps patients need less strong opioid pain medication in the first two days after their operation. The trial enrolled 216 adults undergoing a specific type of brain surgery and is currently suspended.
