New back surgery pain block put to the test
NCT ID NCT07237945
Summary
This study aims to see which of two standard pain control methods works better for adults having a specific type of back surgery (single-level lumbar discectomy). Researchers will observe 60 patients to compare a newer ultrasound-guided nerve block (QIPB) with a traditional method of numbing the surgical wound. The main goal is to see which technique leads to less opioid painkiller use and better pain control in the first 24 hours after surgery.
